These terms and conditions are considered to have been carefully read, accepted and understood by the customer in the form of a lessee or through a booking agent. When paying ship hire, the customer undertakes to comply with the conditions below.

Vessel charter and payment terms

In addition to the ship, the ship hire also includes fuel, crew and insurance. Ship charter is always charged from home port and back to home port unless otherwise agreed. If the arrangement is not completed according to the time specified in the booking confirmation (as a result of the customer's or guests' actions), excess time will be charged according to the current hourly rate per hour started, as well as extension of the assignment time or waiting time.

Booking and billing applies between two specified times and cannot be moved or rescheduled without additional billing, for example; booked charter 4 hours. Start 12:00, finish 16:00. The party will be delayed and the start will not take place until 13:00, the boat is back in home port at 17:00. That delay results in 1 hour of extra billing despite a usage time of 4 hours.

Payment terms in accordance with what is stated on page 1 of this agreement.

If the vessel charter is not paid within the specified time, the shipping company reserves the right to cancel the booking.

If applicable, an advance amount for ship hire, estimated catering costs, extra personnel costs etc. can be paid in by the charterer, which will be settled by settlement after the end of the charter.

Travel & route

Boarding takes place at the regular port location indicated in the booking confirmation for each ship, unless otherwise agreed. If disembarkation is to take place in a place other than the home port, the Master must give his approval if possible depending on traffic, wind, jetty and draft etc.

Food

All catering on board is taken care of by the shipping company. It is not permitted to bring and consume your own food and drink as the ships have serving and restaurant permits. Food and drink must be ordered no later than 14 days before the implementation date. Changes to the number of envelopes can be made no later than 10 days before the implementation date.

Cancellation

The customer has a two-week right of withdrawal in accordance with the law on distance contracts and contracts outside business premises. (SFS 2005:59). When invoking the right of withdrawal, the customer must inform Strand Rederi in writing via e-mail within 14 days.

Cancellation up to 90 days before the booked trip with a deduction of 25% of the ship hire.
Cancellation between 61 to 89 days before the trip is charged 50% of the ship hire.
Cancellation between 0 to 60 days before the trip is charged 100% of the ship hire.
If the vessel charter has been paid to the shipping company, settlement takes place upon reimbursement.

The shipping company has the right to demand the full ship hire and other costs in the booking confirmation in arrears if the charter is not carried out due to non-payment of ship hire or other reasons caused by the customer.

If the cancellation of eating takes place later than 10 days before the execution, the entire previously agreed cost of the eating will be charged.


Safety

The master has the right to cancel the charter in whole or in part with immediate effect, evict persons who are considered to pose a danger to themselves, fellow passengers, crew or otherwise endanger the safety and public order on board. No compensation or reimbursement takes place or can be demanded in the event of forced action as described above. The master has the right to deviate from the planned route with reference to safety, weather, wind, ice conditions or maritime traffic regulations in accordance with applicable laws and regulations, without compensation claims from the customer in the form of a charterer or booking agent.


Damage

In the event of damage, extraordinary cleaning, cleaning and repair of toilets due to unauthorized waste or improper use, the customer is liable for compensation.
This applies even if the perpetrator cannot be identified.

Please note that the use of confetti is not permitted on board.

Force majeure

In the event of war, government regulation, strike, blockade, lockout or other work hindrance, fire, shipwreck, accident or other circumstance beyond the control of the shipping company, the shipping company has the right to cancel or otherwise rearrange the ordered trip without liability for compensation.

Reimbursement takes place with half the ship's rent, if time interruption during the trip if more than 50% of the booked rental time is wasted due to machine failure, breakdown, or other mechanical causes.

No compensation claim can be made against the shipping company or master if a replacement boat is deployed.  

Other interruptions beyond the master's or shipping company's control such as accidents, weather and ice problems, Force Majeure or acts and omissions of the charterer or the charterer's guests are covered want to of repayment obligation

Covid-19

To prevent the spread of infection and to comply with the public health authority's rules, the customer and guests undertake to carefully follow the crew's rules regarding hygiene and social distancing. The crew has the right to evict a person or cancel the trip without liability for compensation if these rules are not followed.

Diverse

  • Guests participate in activities during the charter at their own risk.
  • There must never be more guests (persons) boarding than specified for the respective ship and the ship will not leave the berth if the number of passengers is exceeded.
  • All price information is stated excluding VAT unless otherwise stated in the payment terms on page 1.
  • The shipping company and the master have the full right to cancel the booked charter and ship right up to the impending departure, in the case of e.g. breakdown, weather problems, illness etc.
  • Any disputes are settled in the Swedish court at the Stockholm District Court.
